Who are you? Tell us a bit more about yourself!

People know me for talking about balloons all the time. I party all day and it’s part of my job. I am always challenging myself, doing things that I never thought I could do when I was younger. The battery life from all the children I met energises me. Other than that, many will know that I’m a workaholic and I love cooking up a feast for the people I love.

What’s your story? Tell us about a life-changing incident.

There was a period of time where I didn’t have a proper roof over my head and I survived on chicken rice (without the chicken) and egg. This remains as a funny subject now when I share my story but it struck me then and I wanted to reach out to children like myself. I dedicate my time to changing my life, a little at a time. Someone once told me, “When you are at rock bottom, the only way is to climb up to the top.” With that, it is a constant reminder and self note I take to keep myself on track.

Why 50for50 and why now?

I have always wanted to do something significant for the less privileged and what more can I ask for, with 49 other change makers! TOGETHER, we can achieve more.

What gets you up in the morning?

Knowing that I will be able to add some colours into people’s life and ensuring that team is contented and well.

Why this cause out of so many causes?

My parents are divorced and I know how much important it is for kids to have the love and support from their family. Specialising in family events isn’t all about the fun. We bring forth the special touches and making sure it’s all about family bonding as it is so crucial in the first 6 years of a child’s life. At the end of the day, being able to reach out to these children with little family bonds and doing whatever we can for those who do not have that privilege is something we will love to manifest.

Any experiences with charity or non-profit work before?

We have been helping out whenever we can from the day the business started. Sometimes we conduct free balloon sculpting workshop and in return, parents will have to bring their kids and join us for our charity events. We also helped out in several homes and organising events for special occasions.

What kind of change are you looking to bring about as a changemaker?

We hope to create more awareness for the charity we are helping. It’s like planting a seed and letting the plant grow. We want to continue working with the organisation and hoping that like- minded people will join us in the long run. With the idea, we might be able to draw youths into this project and let them be more involved in community service.

What is your big idea on how to raise funds for 50for50?

We would like to combine both our passion and skills to create a huge balloon sculpture relevant to WiCare Support Group. This will definitely help to raise as much funds possible for the charity and also create more awareness of the organisation. Also, we will be raising funds in our shop, being more proactive in creating the awareness of the organization we are helping.
