CARE CORNER – TECK GHEE YOUTH CENTRE
- Together with a group of passionate individuals, Rev Tan Tien Ser set up the Care Corner Organization in 1981, which evolved from a series of early outreach initiatives. They believe that, as economic competition in the region intensified, widening the rift between the wealthy and the lower-income individuals, help would need to be rendered to the latter with no prior opportunities for formal education. Care Corner fervently strived to introduce new & innovative programmes in order to stay relevant to the needs of those in-need and the less privileged. More than 50,000 beneficiaries are served by Care Corner’s network of centres each year, with beneficiaries between 2 months to 90 years of age. A myriad range of beneficiaries is served, notably Care Corner’s children, youth, special needs, adults, couple and the elderly.
- Care Corner aims to serve, strengthen and support families because they truly believe that the foundation upon which the community is built requires strong and stable families, and that a vibrant family life is fundamental to the growth of individuals. One notable initiative by Care Corner is the establishment of the Care Corner Training Association (CCTA) in 1998 to meet growing demands for personal and professional developments in the social service industries.
