- Started in October 2006, Healthserve was established with an aim to meet the needs of the community by offering medical and legal advice, counselling services and HIV screening tests. Healthserve has since partnered with regulatory authorities, agencies, schools and corporate organisations to initiate public health awareness, research projects & social enterprises. As part of their social engagement, Healthserve runs both overseas and local Youth Community Programmes, providing the platform and encouraging the interaction of future generations to come together and work towards a holistic community integration of society.
- Some of the services Healthserve initiated includes providing subsidised primary healthcare services like General Consultation & Health Checkups, STD checks, pregnancy screening, HIV screening, vaccination, travel immunition to the general community, assistance with work injury cases & pro bono legal team to give advice to migrant workers, as well as Art, English & Computer classes. Outdoor activities such as cricket games are also planned for the migrant workers. Healthserve also partnered with 3 coffee shops in Geylang to start the Geylang Food Project (GFP) – which provides support for Chinese workers on special pass who had their work permit cancelled and are currently staying in Singapore to settle their work injury or salary claims.
