SINGAPORE WOMEN’S ASSOCIATION
- Formerly established as the Siglap Girls’ Club in 1954 with the aim to serve the needs of underprivileged girls, Singapore Women’s Association has since been providing voluntary services with the aim of helping to make Singapore a happy, peaceful and prosperous homeland for Singaporeans.
- Some programmes of SWA include Singapore VisionCare Programme (SVP) which aims to educate the public about eye-care, provide eye-care services to the community as well as reaching out to the elderly above 40 to detect eye problems. Another programme hosted by SWA is the SWA Lunch for Elderly where elderly beneficiaries from various charities were invited for a Lunar New Year lunch in this year. SWA also provides programmes aiming to empower women as well as being actively involved in fundraising efforts for the needy.
