ST. ANDREW’S CATHEDRAL HOME FOR THE AGED
- Registered as a Charity in 1985, St. Andrew’s Cathedral Home for the Aged is set up to promote the welfare of the aged particularly towards providing board, lodging and care for the aged without distinction of sex, race and creed. Recognizing the needs of Singapore’s graying population and the need for the cathedral to make provisions for elderly who have no family to care and support them, the lessons learnt in the Gospel drove the establishment of this Home. Currently the Home serves ambulant elderly woman above 60 years of age and the facilities could accommodate 25 female residents.
- The vision of the home is to provide for the physical, spiritual, emotional and the well being of its residents. It focuses on the physical environment and care, the range of activities for the residents and the interactions they continue to have with the larger community. Throughout the year, members for St Andrew’s Cathedral, schools, churches and organizations organize activities and visit the elderly.
