Who are you? Tell us a bit more about yourself!

Love helping others and bringing joy to people wherever I can. I believe in second chances.
Not much of a talker, I’d rather sing. Don’t know much about food and wine, but I love them both.
Major Gamer and Geek. Always trying to learn something from everything. Try to stay fit and sometimes healthy. Striving to be thankful for all and more importantly who I have.

What’s your story? Tell us about a life-changing incident.

When a close friend passed away unexpectedly. He always cared for others more than himself. He gave so much even though he had so little, and he gave more when he had less. Put his family and friends first. Passionate about what he believed in. Always there when you needed him. Major Gamer and Geek.

His passing taught me a great deal about how fragile life is. To treasure who you have in your life. To spend more time with the people who loved you at your worst. To give more than receive. Smile more.

Why 50for50 and why now?

50for50 is unique opportunity to create impact at scale with like-minded individuals. Better now than never.
Also ties in with Singapore’s 50th birthday, and personally there is no better way to celebrate our nation’s birthday than to give support wherever I can.

What gets you up in the morning?

Phone alarm, adding 50for50 to that list.

Why this cause out of so many causes?

Apex Rehabilitation Centre. I personally feel that not enough is being done for the elderly. This day care centre is doing great work around keeping the elderly active, and more importantly bringing them through a transformative experience so that they live out the last phase of their lives in happiness and joy.

Any experiences with charity or non-profit work before?

Helped out at old folks homes and disability centres, but nothing quite like 50for50.

What kind of change are you looking to bring about as a changemaker?

Bring awareness for Apex centre. To treasure their loved ones, and to care for them even more as they grow older.
Our parents spent most of their lives raising us, the least we can do is return the favour.

What is your big idea on how to raise funds for 50for50?

Create awareness at scale through social media. Raise funds through both crowdfunding and events.
